Vote by Mail

Won’t be in town for the election, or just hoping for a convenient way to vote from home? Vote early with a mail-in ballot, also known as an absentee ballot! Request a ballot by October 26!

Here’s how it works

Voters must request a mail-in ballot here by Saturday, Oct. 26. You can only request a ballot for yourself — not your parent, spouse or anyone else. However, you can absolutely talk to your family and friends about voting early and share the information with them! It is a felony to make a false statement in an application for an early mail ballot, to attempt to cast an illegal ballot, or to help anyone to cast an illegal ballot.

Once you receive your ballot, vote as you normally would, and also make sure to sign the security envelope. If you don’t sign the envelope, your vote will not be counted.

When is it Due?

Ballots can be returned at an early voting poll site in your county between Oct. 26 and Nov. 3, or at an Election Day poll site by 9 p.m. on Nov. 5. You can also drop off your ballot at a mailbox or the post office; just note that it needs to receive a postmark no later than Election Day, Nov. 5.
